September - One for the Boys

Welcome to our September challenge where this month our theme is................

********One for the Boys********

As the title suggests we would like to see cards and project suitable for the guys, be it young or not so young, the choice is yours.

Please can I remind you of our basic rules: You can enter up to three times, combine with other challenges, use any make of stamp......but can I please remind you.........we are a stamping challenge so must see a stamped image, sentiment or quote as the focal element of your artworkIt so upsets us to see names come out in the draw who are not eligible for the prize because they have not read the rules.

Our prize this months is a super collection of Hero Arts stamps.

We are very pleased to welcome Sue as our Guest Designer this month, she had made a lovely inspirational card to share with us all............

And here is some inspiration from the Design Team who as always have really embraced the theme.

Happy crafting all, we look forward to seeing all your entries.

Dora in the spotlight

Good morning, this month I am pleased to welcome Dora to our mid month inspirational post, currently the Design Team are sharing either a new technique or one they particularly enjoy using.

Our current theme of 'One for the Boys' is in full swing and runs until 28th September so still plenty of time to join in to be in with a chance of winning a collection of Hero Art stamps.

Now I will hand you over to Dora....................................

"Hello everyone, this time I (Dora) am showing a technique that is one of my favourites.

With this post I will show you how you can make this, there are lots of photo's and you can make this with all kind brands of stamps.

For this card I used Stampscapes stamps.

First stamp the bear, and again on the masking tape

Cut the image out of the masking tape and put it on  stamped image

I have  a tool from StampinUp called a stamp positioner which I think other brands have it as well. It is a tool that you can put a stamp precisely on the paper wherever you want. You stamp on the sheet, leave the stamp on the clear block.

And then put the sheet on the bear image then you can see where you can stamp the second stamp.

If you know where you want the second stamp. Put the stamp positioner to the sheet and put the sheet away and take the stamp with the clearblock to the stamp positioner and stamp.

Then you see this.

I stamp this background stamp once more on the masking tape.

I cut the top edge and put it on the image.

Than I take the third stamp and stamp it on the sheet.

With the sheet I can look where I want the tree stamp.

Put the stamp positioner again to the sheet. Put the sheet away and take the tree-stamp with the clearblock to the stamp positioner and stamp.

Remove the masking tape. Than you see the whole image. You see also the white lines where it is not covered. There I use a black water resist fine liner and add lines and dots to blended it in. Below I colourized with 'Grazy Grayons' (dutch brand) But you can do it with all kinds of colour materials.

The 'Grazy Grayons' I used it for larger area's.

With pencils I used it for the smaller area's and details. Also for shadow.

I cut the edges and ink them. Draw some birds in the sky.

With a white sharpie pen I place dots for the water, for a flowing effect.

And at last you can finish it to make a card. For all the stamping I used Stazon. For stamping on the sheet I use black Adirondack ink. Then you can clean the sheet much easier.

I hope you like this post to inspire you. There is a plenty of time to enter our challenge.
Theme: One for the boys.

Kind regards, Dora."

Thank you for such a comprehensive post Dora.
