Marlies in the spotlight

Good morning everyone, it's time for our mid month post and this month it's my pleasure to introduce our newest member of the Design Team Marlies who has made a lovely card following this months Autumnal theme. There is a fabulous prize to be won from Penny Black so make sure you join in if you have not already done so.

It's my turn for the midmonth and we are sharing either a new technique or using one we often use.

Something that I wanted to try was colouring up a stamp with the 'No black lines' technique. I must admit it more difficult than I thought it would be and it took lots of attempts to get something done that I could be reasonably happy with.

I stamped the image with Antique Linen Distress ink. To make it easier to see were the stamped image was I shaded around it with stormy sky. Then I outlined all the parts in the colour I wanted them to be and then shaded the colours. This is coloured with distress ink (refills)

I hope that I have inspired you to try this technique too.

Thank you Marlies, it's a technique I have heard people mention but never really knew quite how it worked so your post has been very educational.

  1. Your card looks gorgeous Brenda and there are certainly no black lines. It's not a technique I've tried myself. It certainly looks lovely but is probably more suited to young eyes. I love the embellishments you've added and the lace is particularly lovely. Super colouring. Barbxx

  5. What a welcome addition to your DT! I saw her card earlier (somewhere in blogland) and visited her blog to say how gorgeously colored - and oh-so-happy it is! Congrats!
