Joan's beautiful Peonies

Good morning and welcome to our mid month inspirational post where it's Joan's turn to share a technique that is new to her.

Don't forget that our 'Cold and Frosty Colours' challenge is in full swing and there is still plenty of time to join in if you have not managed to do so yet, or of course you can share a second creation with us.

Now I will hand you over to Joan...........................

"It's my turn to do the mid month and for my new to me technique I've tried stamp layering with mica powders, this is the card I made

It's a quite simple technique that gives a lovely shimmery layered flower using only a Versamark Ink pad some mica powder and two layering stamps. In this case I've used Altenew Peony stamps.

Stamp the base stamp onto dark cardstock with versamark ink

Add mica powder to the stamped image and brush off excess

Sorry but I forgot to take a photo of the next stage but all you need to do is take the next layer stamp you want to use, I used the 3rd one in the set, ink it up with Versamark ink and stamp it over the pearlised base you have already done, this stamping removes some on the mica and leaves the above image.  I just did another one and some leaves, fussy cut them and added them to my card".

Thank you so much Joan, a lovely and different way to use layering stamps.

January - Cold and Frosty Colours

Welcome to our first Challenge of 2018, we have lots of super themes lined up not to mention a number of new sponsors so we think is going to be a super year.

And to start the year off we have a seasonal theme of.......................

********Cold and Frosty Colours********

All those colours we associate with this time of year, blues, purples, silver, white, I am sure you will come up with lots of ideas to showcase those colours.

Please can I remind you we are a stamping challenge so must see a stamped image as the focal element of your artwork, not just a stamped sentiment or stamping in the background, this means:

Stamping must be the central point of attention and interest

We have a great prize consisting of a collection of Sizzix products.................

Sizzix, there's no bigger or better place for craft materials, custom dies and machines that can die-cut, emboss and texturize many materials, including cardstock, paper, construction paper, fabric, faux fur, felt and foil plus much more.

We welcome Linda as our Guest designer this month and she has made two wintery cards to inspire you all........

And the Design Team have been busy as always with more inspirational creations to set you on your way.............

Brenda

Dora

Joan

Happy crafting one and all.

You can enter up to three creations but please note: If we do not comment on your entry it will be because it does not follow the theme, qualify under our rules, or because we are asked to sign in or provide additional data to comment on third party hosts particularly Instagram, Facebook, Splitcoast etc. We do not want to be rude but we do want to be fair to those who do follow the rules.
